Comments: |
Like other species of Ostrya we believe that seed collected when the bracts are brown in color (but the seeds inside are still green) kept moist and sown in the Fall will germinate in the Spring . This means seeds collected this way do not require the warm stratification. The drying of the seed induces the requirement for the warm stratification period. Not practical for large ammounts of seed. |
Germination info: |
Dried seed requires 60 days warm stratification followed by 120-140 days cold stratifcation. |

A Trial Packet contains a minimum of 5 - 30 seeds depending on the size of the selected seed.
