Comments: Damaged by late freezes. Japanese source true to type but more expensive. We are told the seed is used to produce phytophthora resistant root-stock to graft Abies fraseri on to. Abies firma is now being used as a root-stock that enables the Southern US to grow other species of Abies that until recently was impossible. Drought and wet foot resistant.
Germination info: Seed requires 30-60 days cold moist stratification.
