Comments: Seed count ranges from 530-725/lb. depending on crop year and source . A soak in cold water around 40 Deg. F. for 24 hours will increase the speed and uniformity of germination or a short cold moist stratification of several days would do the same thing. Grafted to P. radiata rootstock = 80-85% survival. Grafted to rootstocks of P. sabiniana & P. halepensis = 60-70% survival. Salt tolerant. Colder collection areas of seed leads to a more cold hardy plant.
