This seed is collected from the Southern range of the species. One sample of seed was hot water treated and germinated promptly. A second batch from a different seed lot was hot water treated and it only germinated at a low rate. A sample of non germinated seed was removed and mechanically clipped to expose endosperm inside. These seeds germinated at once at a high rate. Seed coat thickness varies from seed lot to seed lot. White flowers with yellow blotch. Yellow blotch changes to red. Fragrent flowers. |
