Comments: Seed count will vary 10% pending crop and time of year. Reports state the seeds root will emerge without a cold stratification but the shoot will not emerge unless cold stratification is received. Used to make edible jelly in Asia. Do not dry Quercus sed below 55% moisture level or the seed will die. If seed pre-germinates and roots turn black and dry approx. 75% will sprout new roots and grow.
