Comments: |
Smaller seed then the normal species. Reports state - for the species not specifically for Gobbler - the seeds root will emerge without a cold stratification but the shoot will not emerge unless cold stratification is received. Do not dry Quercus sed below 55% moisture level or the seed will die. If seed pre-germinates and roots turn black and dry approx. 75% will sprout new roots and grow. Gobbler Sawtooth Oak is an excellent source of food for wildlife during fall and winter. Acorns are eaten by Turkeys, Grouse, Bobwhite Quail, Deer and Squirrels. |
Germination info: |
