Comments: Immature embryo requires warm period. Soak seed in water before doing a cut test. Seed sown in the Fall without the warm period will not germinate until the second Spring. Reportedly used as a rootstock for H. japonica, H. mollis and H. intermedia. Flowers in November.
Germination info: Seed requires 60 days warm stratification followed by 90 days cold moist stratification.
